Some good news for the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation.
The Feed the Meter program will continue through this term of council in Prince Edward County.
Kellie Brace, the Student Nutrition Program Coordinator appeared virtually in front of councillors two weeks ago seeking their continued support for the program.
Last year, seven schools in the County received funding of over $700 each to help make sure breakfast, lunch and snack programs were universally available.
Since 2010, $23,771 has been raised though meters in Picton.
Brace noted during her deputation because of COVID-19 this year, a number of the Learning Foundation’s major fundraisers have not gone ahead and there will be even more need for the Feed the Meter program this December.
