A Belleville man was injured after being attacked by a man swinging a hammer early last night (Tuesday).
Police responded to a disturbance at an east end plaza shortly before 8 o’clock and found the victim who was taken to hospital and later released.
The victim knew his attacker and police found the suspect at a nearby apartment building.
A 39-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.
Meanwhile, city police are also investigating some vandalism at a west end church yesterday.
A window was broken at the church located on Harder Drive.
