Belleville Police Service responded to 78 calls for service from August 17, 2020 at 5 a.m. to August 18, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Impaired Driving Charge
On August 17, 2020, shortly after 4:00 p.m., members of the Belleville Police Service received a call from a concerned citizen who was following a vehicle. The vehicle in question was described the as swerving all over the road, nearly striking a pole. Officers were able to locate the motor vehicle in the east end of Belleville. During the course of their investigation, officers believed the driver was impaired. Subsequently, 45-year-old Tracey Lasher of Stirling was charged with impaired operation and possession of a controlled substance. She was released from custody with a court date in September 2020.
Traffic Enforcement
On August 18, 2020 shortly after 2:00 a.m., officers with the Belleville Police Service stopped a vehicle in Belleville’s east end. During the course of the traffic stop, it was learned that the driver was currently under suspension and thus could not be operating the vehicle. As a result, 32-year-old Myles Hughes of Kingston was charged with driving while under suspension. He was issued a Part III Provincial Offences Summons with a court date in September.
