Motorists with plans to head to Kingston tonight will need to find an alternate route.
The OPP say Hwy 401 east from kilometre 599 at Odessa to 611 at Gardiners Road Kingston will be closed from 6 p.m. (Tuesday) to 6 a.m. (Wednesday) for cleanup from last week’s tractor trailer collision.
On Thursday, August 13, shortly before 5 a.m., a tractor trailer struck the guard rail and continued into the south ditch. The vehicle’s fuel tanks were damaged and the contents of the trailer, liquid tar, leaked into the wetland area.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
