Sandbanks Provincial Park is now closed for day-use for the afternoon.
The park reached capacity just before noon and is encouraging day-use visitors to come back another day, or try again this evening.
Anyone with camping permits is still allowed in, but should expect longer wait times to get into the park, with long lineups continuing at the gate.
Prince Edward County staff also say Wellington Rotary Beach has reached capacity and is closed to further visitors as well.
They are also putting out a reminder that swimming off private lands is not permitted without the landowner’s express permission and are asking drivers to respect all posted parking restrictions so that roads remain clear for emergency vehicles.
