Fire destroyed a house on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory earlier this morning (Wednesday).
The Mohawk and Tyendinaga Township fire departments were called out around 2:30 to the fire
at 611 Norways Road, south of York Road.
The residents of the two-storey wood frame house were not in the home when the fire broke out.
Mohawk Fire Chief Scott Maracle says flames started in the rear of the house and the fire was under control in about an hour.
The cause is under investigation.
