An argument lead to a stabbing Friday evening in Belleville.
Police were called to a house on Moira Street West around 5:30 p.m. to a report of an assault where a man had been stabbed.
In the home police found a 41-year-old man suffering from minor stab wounds to the abdomen.
An investigation revealed that both men involved lived in the same building and knew one another. Police say both men had been drinking together when an argument broke out resulting in a stabbing.
City emergency services attended the scene and took the victim to Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries. He has since been released.
The accused, Belleville resident, 46-year-old John Reilly was arrested and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault causing bodily harm. Reilly was later released on his own recognizance with strict conditions and is scheduled to appear in Belleville court on September 3.
