The Belleville Police Service responded to 67 calls for service from July 31, 2020 at 5 a.m. to August 1, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Theft from Vehicles
On July 31, 2020, police received some calls from residents on Donald Street regarding overnight vehicle break-ins. Police advise that an unknown suspect(s) had entered some cars parked in residence driveways removing small change and any other items of worth. No suspects were identified. Theft & Trespass
Also on July 31, 2020 at approximately 11:30 a.m., city police attended Canadian Tire on Bell Boulevard in regards to a man in the area possibly in the possession of stolen items from the store. Police made contact with a 39-year-old Belleville resident who police found attempted to remove a small butane refill canister from the store without paying for the item.
Police charged the gentleman with Engaging in Unlawful Activity under the Ontario Trespass to Property Act and escorted him off the property.
