Another park in the city has been opened.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk along with council and members of the project team attended the official grand opening of Stanley Park playground this afternoon.
The playground at Forest Hill Crescent and Edgehill Road was the subject of a public engagement process last year and now sees paved trails, benches, a transfer station and AODA compliance.
Panciuk says the park had been void of playground elements since 2015 and the opportunity to create a playground in this part of the city will enhance positive play experiences for everyone.
Residents are reminded that all city parks currently open to the public are to be used at their own discretion. Parents and caregivers are asked to ensure children are physically distancing at all times. It is recommended residents bring hand sanitizer and that hands are washed carefully with soap and water before and after use. Please remain at home if feeling unwell or exhibiting any symptoms.
