Police will be targeting motorists this long weekend who fail to comply with a 2003 law.
OPP will be patrolling some of Ontario’s busiest highways this weekend and will have their sights set on drivers who do not slow down and safely move over for roadside emergency vehicles.
So far this year, the OPP has laid more than 400 charges against drivers who failed to move over to help create safe space for police, other emergency personnel and tow truck drivers to conduct their work.
There were more than 9,300 charges over the last five-year period.
