A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the Quinte region ahead of what could be some nasty weather later today.
Areas in Southern Ontario are expected to get blasted by thunderstorms and this area will see conditions favourable for the development of those same storms locally.
Damaging wind gusts up to 90 km/h are expected mid-afternoon into the evening.
