Disqualified driver
On July 26, 2020, at 12:45 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Moira Street West. Police identified the driver as 33-year-old Chad Potvin of Picton who was a disqualified driver stemming from a previous driving related criminal conviction. Potvin was arrested and later released at the scene with a court date of September 10. The vehicle that he was driving belonged to the passenger in the vehicle, and it was impounded for 45 days.
Impaired driver
On July 26, 2020, at 1:55 a.m., police received a call regarding a possible impaired driver. The caller reported that the driver was stopped in the middle of an intersection and had almost hit the median several times. Police located the vehicle on North Front Street and spoke with the driver. The driver showed obvious signs of alcohol consumption, and he was given a roadside screening test. The driver, 49-year-old Radcliffe McLean of Trenton, was arrested for over 80mgs. He was transported to Belleville Police Service where he provided two breath tests. McLean was charged with over 80mgs. He was released with a August 27 court date.
