Despite some rumours that have been swirling, the Belleville branch of the Royal Canadian Legion is not closing for good.
Branch 99 spokesperson Shirley Stewart tells Quinte News the Belleville Legion has been closed during the pandemic, but there are plans to reopen, as soon as the provincial numbers drop to a number that they deem to be safe and acceptable.
She says there is a tentative plan for a reopening on August 8.
Stewart did add that the current building on Pinnacle Street has been sold and a committee has been formed to help find a new home for Branch 99, with that search for a new building ongoing.
