The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board is still working on the specifics for its return to the classroom protocols for the upcoming school year.
Spokesperson Kerry Donnell tells Quinte News for now, the board is considering the three scenarios put forward by the Provincial Government earlier this month, which could include regular in-class instruction with physical distancing measures in place, full-time remote learning, and a hybrid model blending both approaches.
When those scenarios were announced, Education Minister Stephen Lecce had said he expected all students to begin the year with the blended model at least, which would see no more than 15 students in class attending on alternating days or weeks.
Donnell says they should have some more firm details on the plan in early August, if not sooner.
Meanwhile, Nova Scotia announced its return plans on Wednesday with the province saying that all students will return to classes with increased health and safety protocols, enhanced cleaning of schools and buses and more spacing between students.
That province also has contingency plans in place, in case of another flareup of COVID-19.
