Prince Edward County is making some updates to its visitors policy at the HJ McFarland Home in Picton.
As of tomorrow, residents will be allowed to have two visitors at a time for outdoor visits and indoor visits will also be allowed, as long as some guidelines are followed.
Those include a maximum of two visitors, who must have a negative COVID-19 test within two weeks before they visit and also pass a screening every time they visit.
Physical distancing rules will be in place and visitors will also have to wear masks at all times, with visits taking place in the home’s auditorium, which will be cleaned and disinfected between visits.
Here are the full guidelines from Prince Edward County officials:
Indoor visits
Outdoor visits
Individuals wishing to visit are asked to call the home at 613.476.2138 a minimum of 48 hours in advance and leave a message at extension 134 to request a visit. They can also email the Recreation & Volunteer Services Supervisor at dpreston@peccounty.on.ca. Scheduling will allow for continued activity programing and to meet staffing requirements. During this phase of visits, residents will be allowed one visit (two people at the same time) per week. This measure will allow H.J. McFarland Memorial Home to accommodate the highest number of visitor requests. Any non-adherence to the rules will be the basis for discontinuation of visits. |
