A Drive-Thru Barbecue is being held at the lunch hour in Tweed on Wednesday.
It it a free United Way of Hastings Prince Edward celebration.
Officials of United Way Hastings and Prince Edward say the idea is to celebrate the community in a safe and fun way.
Spokesperson Melanie Cressman tells Quinte News a group of supporters have helped put on the event which is free for the public.
The Drive-Thru is at the Tweed Community Centre from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
There have been similar barbecues in Bancroft and in Deseronto.
Plans are underway to have similar events in Quinte West and Belleville.
These events are being held throughout the summer, but Cressman says, the fall United Way fundraising campaign will be very different, due to COVID-19.
She says the need is bigger than ever throughout the agencies that the United Way serves.
