A longtime member of Quinte West staff is taking over the city’s top job.
David Clazie, who has worked with the city since 2003 was confirmed as the city’s new Chief Administrative Officer on Monday night.
Clazie has spent the last 11 years as the city’s Director of Corporate and Financial Services and Treasurer and replaces Charlie Murphy, who retired on July 17.
He thanked council for their support during Monday’s virtual meeting.
Clazie was one of a number of people interviewed for the job by recruiting firm Palmer and Associates and a panel of councillors, with the selection committee saying Clazie was the “clear choice” to take the job.
Many councillors and Mayor Jim Harrison echoed that sentiment on Monday night.
A search will now begin to find a replacement for Clazie in the Director of Corporate Finance role.
