The Belleville Police Service responded to 62 calls for service from July 17th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to July 18th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Theft from vehicle
On 17 July 2020, police responded to two separate reports of a theft from a vehicle on Ava Court. Police were advised that unknown persons had entered a vehicle in the driveway at one residence and stole money and personal property. The same suspect(s) then entered another vehicle in the area and stole two pair of sunglasses. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Belleville Police Service.
Arrested on warrants
On 17 July 2020, at 1:15pm, police were notified that a male who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching his probation was waiting to attend an appointment downtown. Police attended and located the male. Jeffery Valleau, 40, of Belleville was arrested and held for a bail hearing on 18 July.
On 17 July 2020, at 8:35pm, police observed a female, who was known to be wanted for breach of probation, walking on Sidney Street. As police tried to locate the female, she had fled into a nearby apartment. Police were able to locate the female and arrest her on the outstanding warrant. Jessica Rose, 28, of Belleville, was held for a bail hearing on 18 July.
On 18 July 2020, at 4:40am, police located a male at College Street and Cannifton Road who had warrants for several breaches of his release conditions. The male was positively identified and arrested. Joseph Parks, 36, of Belleville was held for a bail hearing on 18 July.
Theft of purse
On 17 July 2020, at 10:15pm, police took a report of a theft of a purse near the south end of North Front Street. The victim reported she had set her purse down on her front step, and she forgot to retrieve it before going inside. When the victim returned to get the purse, she noticed it had been taken. The purse contained cash and medication. Anyone with information is asked to call Belleville Police.
