Belleville Police Service responded to 69 calls for service from July 14, 2020 at 5 a.m. to July 15, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Breach of court orders
On July 14, 2020 at 11:20 p.m., Belleville Police located a male in an east end housing complex who was currently on a number of release conditions for a number of charges currently before the courts. The male was found to be breaching one of those conditions and was arrested. The 42-year-old Belleville resident was held for a bail hearing.
On July 14, 2020 at 8 p.m., Belleville Police observed a male in the east end who they were aware was wanted for a number of outstanding probation breaches. After a short foot chase the 35-year-old Belleville resident was arrested. The male faces four probation breaches and was held for a bail hearing.
Domestic Charges
On July 15, 2020 at 2 a.m., Belleville Police responded to a west end apartment building regarding a domestic incident. Police arrived on scene and were advised that the suspect had fled the area. The 23-year-old Belleville resident was located shortly after hiding in a closet in a west end residence. The male is charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of mischief and is being held for a bail hearing later today.
Intoxication
On July 14, 2020 at 9:15 p.m., Belleville Police were called to an east end intersection regarding an intoxicated female. Police arrived on scene and located the 29-year-old female of no fixed address who was highly intoxicated and acting erratically. She was transported to the Belleville Police Service and was held until sober.
Driving incident
OnĀ July 14, 2020 at 3:30 p.m., Belleville Police Officers conducted a vehicle stop on a west end street due to a plate violation. Further investigation resulted in the 24-year-old driver being charged with operating a vehicle with no insurance, failing to surrender the permit for the vehicle and using a plate not authorized for the vehicle. The driver was issued summons with an August 10court date.
