The executive director of marketing for the Bay of Quinte says that things are picking up.
Dug Stevenson spoke on CJBQ’s Lorne Brooker show Friday about how the marketing team has adjusted its stance amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He touched on the province opening up and what they’re doing moving forward.
Stevenson talked about new ways to keep the community informed on what’s going on using the Bay of Quinte website. He stressed the importance of getting local people out to enjoy the area and use the services that are opening up.
Stevenson says that although the province is potentially nearing the third stage of the reopen, the local municipalities have expressed that they’re still hesitant to open up fully and to encourage people from outside the Bay of Quinte to travel in.
Along with keeping updated lists and announcements on what businesses in the city are open and operating, there is a contest running weekly to give away a $500 “Staycation” in the Bay of Quinte. The contest can be entered on the Bay of Quinte website and is running for eight weeks starting Monday, July 13.
