HomeBuild for Healthcare has wrapped up its fifth project to benefit the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The house built by Klemencic Homes was built in Hillside Meadows, a new subdivision off 2nd Dug Hill Road in Trenton. The sale of the house netted $350,000 for the TMHF which will go towards buying a new x-ray machine for Trenton Memorial.
Andy Klemencic, co-owner of Klemencic homes, says he was pleased with how the whole process turned out, even despite the COVID-19 pandemic which he says they were able to work around with few issues. He says he was surprised with how easily they were able to garner support from builders, suppliers and others.
There were around 70 different companies and services that contributed to building the house. Klemencic explained that the project came together because the companies donated their services.
The homeowners, Kim and Bert Fox, have been together for around a decade and married for almost two years. They say that it’s a perfect house for two and they’re extremely happy with it. They also say that supporting a cause like the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation is important to them because as they, and people like them, get older they may need to rely on hospitals more.
According to HomeBuild for Healthcare, the x-ray equipment at Trenton Memorial is 16 years old and showing signs of wear. The organization also says there were 17,000 x-rays at the hospital last year.
