Brighton Fire Chief Rick Caddick has raised the current level of fire risk to extreme for the municipality.
He says with the current extreme heat and dry conditions, the conditions are favourable for rapid fire spread.
The Municipality of Brighton will only allow small campfires to be held at this time.
City staff remind residents that they must obtain an Open-Air Burning Permit online at brighton.burnpermits.com before any burning begins.
Those starting a fire must remain with it and have a suitable means to extinguish it should it grow out of control.
