Belleville Police along with the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Unit arrested a 25-year-old Belleville man for firearms related offences.
Police say yesterday (Wednesday) Cameron Robert Vail was spotted walking on Tracey Park Drive and arrested for possession of a firearm.
A search revealed he was in possession of a 410 shotgun that had been modified by cutting the stock and creating a pistol grip.
Earlier this year, Vail was convicted of an assault and was not to be in possession of any firearm or related device for five years.
He was charged with possession of an unauthorized firearm, possession of a firearm knowing it was unauthorized, breach of undertaking and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Vail was held in custody for a show cause hearing today.
