A man had to be held in a Belleville police jail cell for a while after displaying disturbing behaviour in the city’s west end early last night.
City police report having to respond to the area of Lewis and Yeomans streets at 7:30 after residents said a man was running on the streets carrying a large rock and yelling at people.
A 54-year-old man, who was combative with police, was arrested and charged. No one was injured.
Meanwhile, police advise people to keep their garages locked up as there was a rash of garage break-ins overnight.
Lawn equipment, tools, and bicycles were stolen.
