There are many dozens of migrant workers in Ontario that have tested positive for COVID-19, but the vast majority are in southwestern Ontario.
In our region this has not been a major problem, but local health officials do not want to leave anything to chance.
Quinte Health Care, and Hastings Quinte Paramedic Services are going to be working together to test migrant workers on local farms.
James Russell at QHC’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre says there have been nine farms identified at being interested in the testing program.
Mobile testing visits will take place at the farms, once the paper work is complete.
Any other farms that have not yet expressed interest in the testing program can contact James Russell directly to receive a pre-registration form – JRussell@qhc.on.ca.
