NEW GRANT PROGRAM LAUNCHES – YOUR BUSINESS MAY BE ELIGIBLE
The Small Business Centre (SBC) welcomes the launch of an annual grant program called Starter Company Plus.
The grant is funded by the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade in support of small businesses in the Province of Ontario.
The 2020 grant program will be accepting applications from all businesses, but will be targeting three priority criteria that support the local and regional economic development needs.
They are
1) Developing new market opportunities as a result of the COVID-19,
2) rework of physical space to meet COVID-19 reopening regulations, and
3) financial challenges due to the COVID-19.
Applications will be open on June 22nd and will be accepted until July 10th at 4:30 pm. The application can be found by CLICKING HERE
“All businesses are eligible to apply, but we certainly recognize the impact COVID-19 has had on our regional businesses”, says Luc Fournier, Program Coordinator for the Small Business Centre. “Our goal is to support businesses in general with hopes of easing some of the financial pains caused by these unprecedented times”.
“This year we have $87,000 in support of local businesses either starting up or expanding”, says Amber Darling, Executive Director for Trenval. “These funds will assist the approved recipients with mentoring and training as well providing some funding to help propel the businesses forward.”
The program is designed to stimulate economic growth and create positive job impact for our communities.
The Small Business Centre can accept applications from any business located in the City of Belleville, the City of Quinte West, Hastings County, Prince Edward County, and Lennox & Addington County.
The Small Business Centre offers supports to all businesses outside of the grant programs as well.
It is encouraged that all business apply for the Starter Company Plus grant, and even if not accepted businesses still have access to our full spectrum of resources and supports that are available year-round.
The Small Business Centre is managed by Trenval Business Development Corporation on behalf of the City of Belleville and is located at the Quinte Business Development Centre on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road, Belleville.
