The Belleville Police Service responded to 89 calls for service from June 26, 2020 at 5 a.m. to June 27, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On June 26, 2020 at 2:30 p.m., police responded to the area of North Front Street regarding a three-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported although two of the vehicles sustained significant damage. The at-fault driver was charged with failing to yield at a three-way stop and was issued a provincial offences notice.
Unsafe Vehicle
On June 26, 2020 at 8:55 p.m., members of the Belleville Police Service Traffic Unit observed a vehicle travelling in the area of Dundas Street West that was not fit to be on the road. Police performed a traffic stop and conducted an investigation that revealed the vehicle in question was not fit to be on the roadway. As a result, the vehicle owner was charged with Operate Unsafe Vehicle and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving & Flight from Police
On June 27, 2020 at 3:20 a.m., police observed a driver travelling in the area of Moira Street driving erratically with no headlights on. After a short police pursuit ensued, that ended safely in the area of Albion Street, police conducted an investigation resulting in the arrest of 42-year-old Jamie Crozier of Belleville for impaired driving, dangerous driving and flight from police. He is to be released on an undertaking, given a court date of August 20 to face the charges.
