Council in Prince Edward County is turning over the facilitation of the farming assistance grant to The County Foundation.
Councillors approved a motion on Thursday afternoon to have the Foundation facilitate and distribute the $30,000 for this year’s program.
Director of Finance Amanda Carter told Committee of the Whole the facilitation of the program is becoming expensive for the municipality.
The recommendation to have The County Foundation facilitate the grant program came from the Agricultural Advisory Committee.
The motion carried and will be finalized at the next council meeting.
