One man is being held in custody pending a court date after OPP seized a gun in Marmora and Lake.
The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit along with Central Hastings OPP, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit and OPP Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant on Thursday, June 25 at a Forsyth Street home as part of an ongoing investigation.
Chad Lessard of Marmora and Lake is facing charges of:
- Assault a Peace Office with a weapon
- Possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order
- Careless storage of a firearm or ammunition
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Find a firearm or weapon not reported
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
The 42-year-old is scheduled by video in Belleville Court at a later date.
