It’s said fences make good neighbours and changes could be coming to a by-law regulating fences in Belleville’s Thurlow ward.
A regulation passed in 1992 by the then Thurlow Township council set the maximum height for fences at six feet.
Since then several large subdivisions have been built in the area and some people would like to be able to put up fences higher than six feet for privacy and other reasons.
A staff recommendation that would allow higher fences in Thurlow is coming to Belleville council for a decision at its virtual meeting this afternoon.
