A Thomasburg man faces impaired driving charges after a collision yesterday (Sunday) afternoon on Beatty Road in Thurlow ward.
Belleville police responded around 3 o’clock to find a vehicle in a ditch that had ended up there after first hitting a mailbox.
When police arrived 40-year-old Brian Phillips was seen banging his head against the steering wheel. He was otherwise uninjured and has a court date in late July.
Meanwhile, it seems Father’s Day celebrations got a little out of hand last night (Sunday) at an east end Belleville townhouse complex.
City police responded at around 9 o’clock to find a father and son fighting outside a residence.
Officers broke up the fight and had to arrest an unruly 45-year-old man for public intoxication.
He was released from custody after a few hours after sobering up.
