The City of Belleville has announced they will use the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre as a public cooling centre during the hot summer months when required.
The cooling centre will be activated when the temperature or humidex values reach 40 degrees Celsius.
There will be extra precautions to reduce the risk of COVID-19 among those using the facility.
Security and city staff will be on site, visitors will be asked to sign in upon entry, physical distancing will be in place, and washrooms will be available and cleaned hourly.
