- More and more people buy items online through websites like Kijiji and Facebook marketplace but many worry about meeting people in unfamiliar territory to complete the transaction.
But very soon in Quinte West there’ll be another option to finish the deal.
Monday Quinte West’s Police Services Board approved the Safe Trade Project.
This will allow the OPP to keep some of their parking space at their new headquarters in Trenton open for
people to meet to buy and sell.
The space on the lot won’t be actively policed but obviously there’s a police presence at headquarters and all parking
areas are under camera surveillance and well lit.
It’s expected that will make a lot of people feel better about meeting others to seal the deal so to speak.
The Safe Trade area will be operating sometime later this week.
