Central Hastings Secondary School will undergo some significant work to make room for some new students.
The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board of Trustees approved a tender to Peak Engineering and Construction Ltd. for an addition and renovation at the school as it becomes a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school.
The tender for the job came in at $2.7 million.
The renovations will see two new kindergarten rooms built to accommodate 52 students as well as various interior renovations.
Madoc Public School will be demolished.
Construction should start this summer.
