Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee will consider a rezoning request next month from a local transportation and shipping company that is looking to expand.
County Transport which also operates as County Courier is asking for rezoning of a 10-hectare property near Highway 37 and Blessington Road to build a large facility that would go up in four phases
The first three phases would each include a 13-bay truck terminal, with the fourth phase consisting of eight self-storage units, and the expansion would also include space for seven administrative employees.
The company is currently operating out of the former Nortel property on Sidney Street and covers a large area of Southeastern Ontario along the 401, with daily routes from Belleville up to Madoc, Colborne up to Campbellford and down into Prince Edward County.
The Planning Advisory Committee will consider the application when it meets on Monday, July 6.
