Belleville public transit will see an increase in service with the province loosening restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The second phase of Belleville’s transit plan will take effect Monday and will include further access to shopping areas. The schedule will still be reduced and modified.
The changes to the weekday schedule taking effect next week include:
– The addition of route four hourly from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
– The addition of route five hourly from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
– On-demand service from 7:15 p.m. to midnight.
The changes to the weekend service include:
– Scheduled service from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
– Regular scheduled service from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday
– On-demand service from 6:30 p.m. to midnight. on Saturday and Sunday.
Rear door entrance will still be in effect and no more than 20 passengers will be allowed on the bus at one time. Bus fare will not be collected and passengers are encouraged to wear personal protective equipment.
