Quinte Health Care has announced some visitation changes at its hospitals.
QHC says some restrictions are being loosened “to align with the risk in our communities”, but there will still be precautions in place including COVID-19 screening at the door and making sure visitors wear masks.
Visitors will still only be allowed to certain patient populations, but one of the biggest changes is in the maternity unit, where patients will now be able to have their spouse or support person visit them, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., both before and after the birth.
QHC is still encouraging non-maternity or pediatric inpatients to keep in touch with family virtually where possible.
