There was significantly less building activity in Belleville last month compared to May of 2019.
The city issued 38 building permits with a value of just over $2.4 million, compared to 82 permits in May last year, with a value of around $5.5 million.
Of those 38 permits issued last month, seven were for new homes, while the rest were for other residential or commercial projects.
So far this year the city has issued 234 building permits, with a value of more than $25.4 million.
