The local real estate sales numbers continued to take a big hit last month becuase of COVID-19.
While local realtors were allowed to continue with transactions, as long as physical distancing and other rules were followed, the overall dollar sales for May were down 30.9% at more than $104 million, compared to more than $150 million in May 2019.
Residential dollar sales were also down a similar amount, but the average price of a home in May actually rose 9.2%, to $406,608.
The Quinte and District Association of Realtors says the number of homes sold for May was down significantly, to 241 from 388 and the number of listings for the month is down as well, to 737 from 968.
