RELEASE: Appointment to lead affordable housing efforts in The County

The Prince Edward County Affordable Housing Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Chuck Dowdall as the new Executive Director of the corporation. Mr. Dowdall has held various senior management positions in the non-profit sector and brings to the organization considerable expertise in the development and sustainability of affordable housing in a community-based approach. Mr. Dowdall holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree and MBA from Queen’s University.

The Prince Edward County Affordable Housing Corporation was established in 2018. The mandate of the not-for-profit corporation is to increase the supply of affordable housing in Prince Edward County in cooperation with community stakeholders and developers. The availability and affordability of housing is a growing concern in Prince Edward County. In recent years, the issue has been called a “crisis” due to its effect on the local economy and long-term sustainability of the community and its social fabric.

Mr. Dowdall will assume the position on July 6^th, 2020.
