A grass roots vigil will be held Sunday night in Belleville.
The event is to show support for for those affected by systemic racism.
Aimee Vardy, who is part of a group of community members who care about the issue, says they want to show support for Black, Indigenous, and People Of Colour (BIPOC).
Vardy says people are welcome to show up starting at 7:00 p.m., with speakers beginning at 8:00 p.m.
The group will gather at the Salvation Army/ Bibles For Missions parking lot and from there, walk down Front Street to the parking lot across from city hall for the vigil portion of the event.
She says they are also doing everything in their power to ensure social distancing safety measures for all attendees. They request everyone wear masks, and for those that would like to distance further, please line front street in support.
There will also be a moment of silence for fallen victims of police violence.
