A building permit has been issued to allow the construction of a new six-bed residential hospice to serve the Belleville and Quinte West region.
Last month the City of Quinte West signed off on a $5.8 million permit for Hospice Quinte.
The hospice would be located near the bay shore in the area of Bayside Secondary School.
Hospice Quinte is in the midst of a $9.5 million fundraising campaign for the facility.
Meanwhile, Quinte issued 50 building permits in May for projects whose construction value totalled $10.4 million, down by almost $2 million from May of last year.
