The number of permits issued in Prince Edward County last month increased significantly.
There were 71 permits issued for the month of May for a construction value of $14 million.
The construction of nine new homes brought in $4.4 million and two new industrial commercial developments brought in $4.5 million.
This is up from 27 permits in April with a construction value of only $4 million.
Compared to the same time period last year, the number of permits is down (114 in 2019), but the value of the work is on par with a construction value last year also of $14 million.
So far this year there have been 229 permits issued for a value of $35.2 million.
