There wasn’t much damage but two people suffered burns and had to be taken to hospital after an explosion and structure fire in Belleville’s Thurlow ward Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to 479 Old Madoc Road to find the fire extinguished, but dealt with a hot spot behind some drywall.
A man was taken to Belleville General Hospital and a woman was taken to Kingston where she is in stable condition.
A dog also suffered burns.
Just $10,000 damage was caused and an Ontario Fire Marshal investigator is involved.
The incident is not considered suspicious.
