There are a number of local applicants for a support fund announced earlier this month.
The United Way Hastings-Prince Edward and The County Foundation announced the Emergency Community Support Fund on May 19, which provides financial support to charities and other qualified donees adapting their front line services to support vulnerable people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
United Way HPE Executive Director Brandi Hodge says there are a number of applications in the works.
An equal consideration deadline of June 15, which means any organization that applies for the funding by that date will receive equal consideration for the funds that are available.
Hodge says there are certain criteria that need to be met in order to be eligible.
The United Way of Hastings Prince Edward will distribute $450,000. The County Foundation will disperse $75,000 in Prince Edward County.
Hodge says if there are any funds remaining after the June 15 deadline, they will continue to receive applications on a rolling basis.
