It is not known when things will return to normal at the Carrying Place Swing Bridge, between The County and Quinte West.
Late Wednesday morning, a tractor slammed into the side of the bridge on the Loyalist Parkway, closing it.
A full safety inspection will need to be completed before the bridge is safe to reopen.
You can use County Road 64 at Brighton or Highway 62 into Belleville in the meantime.
