Prince Edward County CAO Marcia Wallace wants to see more reliable internet come to the municipality.
On Thursday, she will be presenting a report asking council to approve a request for proposals to get internet to rural or remote areas of the County.
Her proposal would see the County offering free access to municipal towers and buildings, as well as unused internet fibre connections, for a five-year period, in exchange for an agreement to provide internet service to under served areas of the County and renegotiate existing tower contracts to incorporate zero fees for the five year term.
Areas in the south of the County including West Lake, Cherry Valley and South Bay tend to be the areas still experiencing significant gaps or connectivity issues.
Council meets virtually at 1 p.m.
