Quinte West OPP have released information about a collision that has prompted an SIU investigation.
On Friday around 7:30 p.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation but the driver fled from the area.
A short time later the vehicle was located on Stockdale Road following a collision.
Two people were taken to hospital and following their release were arrested.
Anthony Anderson-King, 24, of Scarboough is facing charges including:
- Dangerous operation
- Operation while prohibited – two counts;
- Flight from peace officer
- Possession of property obtained by crime-under $5,000
- Failure to comply with a release order – two counts;
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
- Possession of a Schedule III substance
He was remanded into custody for a bail hearing on May 29.
Nicholas Dugbe, 23, also of Scarborough was charged with:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime-under $5,000
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
- Possession of a Schedule III substance
He was released and will appear in court in August.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) invoked its mandate and is conducting a parallel investigation. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information.
