Schools may not be in session but that doesn’t mean repairs have stopped.
The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board approved $4.7 million worth of electrical and roofing work at a number of schools across the board.
Seven schools will see electrical distribution and replacement projects at a cost of just under $1.1 million.
McClement Electric Ltd. was given the contract for work at Bayside Secondary School ($224,690), Foxboro Public School ($71,575), Frankford Public School ($84,290) and Tyendinaga Public School ($71,550).
Modern Niagara Toronto Inc. will upgrade the electrical systems at Massassaga-Rednersville Public ($46,181.34) and North Hastings High School ($359,654.23).
Ferguson Electric Ltd. will replace the electrical systems at Trenton High at a cost of $241,000.
Eight schools will see roofing work at a cost of $3.6 million.
Amherst Roofing and Sheet Metal Ltd. will replace the roof at three schools; Eastside Secondary School ($654,365), Kente Public School ($700,928) and Prince of Wales Public School ($414,210).
Can-sky Roofing and Sheet Metal will replace the roof at Massassaga-Rednersville Public (4357,039) and Park Dale School ($106,300).
Dafoe Roofing Ltd. has the contract for Frankford Public School ($333,672).
Maynooth Public School will see the roof replaced by E-D Roofing Ltd. ($231,275).
Harry J. Clarke Public School will also have a roof replacement, contracted to T. Hamilton and Son Roofing Inc. ($850,833).
