A 37-year-old Marmora and Lake Township man will appear in court tomorrow (Tuesday) after an incident on the weekend.
Central Hastings OPP report they were called to Forsyth Street in Marmora and Lake on Saturday just after noon for a disturbance.
Several people contacted police to say a man and woman were causing a scene, swearing and fighting on the streets.
Officers attended and discovered an assault had taken place and when they found the man, he had an edged weapon with him.
Matthew Eggett was disarmed, arrested and charged with assault, causing a disturbance, resisting a peace officer and failing to comply with a release order.
He remains in custody.
